To strengthen coordination and networking of LASPs, harmonisation and standardisation of legal aid service provision by the different service providers, lobbying and advocacy to facilitate a favourable legal and policy environment.

Avocats Sans Frontieres - ASF

ASF's mission is To support the human rights groups and the most vulnerable by enhancing access to justice and legal
representation.

It Enhances access to justice of equality and its utilization by the most vulnerable

 

» Objectives
1.  To support the provision of legal representation; raise awareness and educate the population on their rights;
and train ‘community leaders’.
2.  To build the professional capacity of lawyers; justice personnel (judges, police, prisons); and provide
institutional support to bar associations for the development of the profession and organisation of legal aid as
well networking for creation of local synergies.
3.  To undertake advocacy through informal meetings with local and international institutions and authorities;
submission of position papers; publications; and organisation of roundtables (i.e. torture prevention in the
Great Lakes region).

Minors, women, persons illegally imprisoned, victims of human rights violations and any individual or group
unable to access justice
