Legal Aid Service Provider's Network

LASPNET with support from DGF organized a legal aid open week in Moroto that took place during the week of 10th – 14th March, 2014.

The objectives of the legal aid week sought to address the Justice gaps reffered to above by taking legal aid services closer to the people, introducing them to various referral pathways and educating them on aspects of gender based violence as well as the importance of embracing gender equality as a tool towards social justice.

The week’s activities included; the launch of the legal aid week, mobile legal aid clinics, media outreach, community dialogues including psychosocial support services, outreach sessions to Police, Prisons and the Courts to identify and handle cases requiring legal support and a feedback panel evaluation of the legal aid week by key stakeholders.
